Index to Reports, Translations & other E-books
This manually compiled list should tally with the PDF contents of the reports / books folder (click here) but this list has additional notes introducing each e-book
- Lunt & Sugiatno in press A draft version of the review of the classic Nanggulan location in Central Java. (Full file over 14 MB, with figures at 300 DPI resolution).
- Lunt & Sugiatno in press A draft version of the review of the Rajamandala limestone and important but undocumented clastic below, in West Java. (Full file 3 MB, with figures at 300 DPI resolution). This file is an early draft, with many corrections still undone but this is the first account of the Early Oligocene quartz clastic turbidites below the Late Oligocene reefal limestone, and the major unconformity that separates them.
- Lunt & Sugiatno in press A draft version of the coring in the Worawari scaly clay / pebbly mudstone north Central Java. (Full file 7 MB, with figures at 300 DPI resolution).

- Lunt, Burgon & Baky in prep. A pre-draft version of the review of the Pemali Beds in north Central Java. Once considered the oldest beds in this area, associated with oil seeps, now recognised as a distinct stratigraphic sequence and one of the youngest deposits. (Full file 10.3 MB, with figures at 150 DPI resolution).
- Rutten 1927. An illustrated English language set of 1927 Lecture Notes by L.M.R Rutten "Lectures on the Geology of the Neth. East Indies Chapters V-IX: Java". An old, but well written account of the geology of Java, suitable as an introduction to the area, as well as giving an historical perspective. (Full file over 3 MB, with 40 figures at 300 DPI resolution).
- Koolhoven 1933. A translation of the original mapping quadrangle report for the Bayah area of West Java.
- Mohler 1946. The first field guide that took the ideas of the Letter Stages and, as simply as possible, enabled field geologists to date the rocks they were mapping.
- Brouwer 1957. A re-typed version of the published but not widely available article from the B.P.M. on the stratigraphy of NE Java. In addition a very draft set of notes on NE Java which includes Brouwer 1957 as an appendix, plus a translation of the important Muhar 1957 work on the biostratigraphy of the area.
- Awaiting editing and layout are the re-typed translations of nearly all of Rutten's lecture notes, including east Indonesia and the Moluccas, Sumatra and Borneo. All figures are avalable as scanned images. Contact the site editor if you want to have pre-release copies of these.
- Draft maps from Verbeek 1908. A test file while the large text from this classic report is being typed and the rest of the map being digitised. Each of the three map panels is about 150 KB.
- Field notes for the 1996 IPA field trip to eastern Java. (Full file over 7 MB). Many ideas in this guide have been substantially changed, however the guide is left unchanged from its original form.
- Field notes for the 1998 IPA field trip to eastern Java. (Full file over 6 MB). Many ideas in this guide were under review at the time of writing in 1998, however the guide is left unchanged from its original form which includes GPS locations for site access.
- Field notes for the 2000 IPA-AAPG field trip to eastern Java. (Full file c. 3 MB).
- Field notes for the 2002 IPA field trip to eastern Java. (Full file over 7 MB). A guide book based on historical maps. The first trip to visit the Lutut Sands near Semarang and contrast them with the Ngrayong Sands.
- Awaiting digtal cleaning are scanned colour images (300 DPI GIF) of nearly all the geological maps published before 1941. (West Java index map). The Sheet 14, Bayah West Java is virtually complete, together with an English translation of the map report. Other sheets are 30 Purwakarta in poor colour, sheet 54 Majengan, sheet 58 Bumiayu, sheet 66 Karangkobar, sheet 67 Banjarnegara, double sheet 73-74 Semarang-Ungaran, and the east Java set (index map) of 4 adjoining sheets near Surabaya numbered 109, 110, 115, & 116. Again, contact the site editor if you want to have pre-release copies of these, bearing in mind the map images are 15 to 25 MB in size.
- The beautiful maps, plates, and figures from the landmark Verbeek and Fennema (1896) Java and Madura volumes have all been scanned and can be obtained from the site editor.
